Strip Steak in Kansas City

We have been to the Plaza III a few times. We had their lunch USDA Prime KC strip for around $20. It was juicy, tender and flavorful. We are visiting KC this summer again. We are deliberating on going back to the Plaza III or trying a different place. We were thinking Jess And Jims or The Rieger but their websites and menus do not specify if their steaks are USDA Prime.
Do you know any restaurants offering USDA Prime strip steaks for around the same price and quality?

We'd appreciate it.

J. Gilbert's in Overland Park is a great place for steak and they are USDA Prime.

I feel like Jess & Jim's is more about tradition and quanity, particularly the enormous baked potatoes.

Dukey, you do realize that this is a place people come to ask for advice, don't you? And that if everyone did their own calling and asking, it wouldn't exist? And then you'd have nowhere to go and be a little b***h?

To complete the cordial responses, all we need now are the vegans to excoriate the OP for his/her choice of meat.

The thing is, The Plaza is such a great place to visit, you'll probably go there anyway. I don't know the other good places, though.

Whoa, what an attitude, NewbE !! My only thought was that $20 was a little light for a prime steak.

I haven't been to the 801 Chophouse, but it advertises USDA meat.

Haven't been in years, but if memory serves the Hereford House used to be pretty well known for steaks. I don't think either has a location near the plaza though. Depending on your itinerary, I'm not sure you want to go to the burbs for dinner if you have options closer to the plaza.

I like Capital Grille on the Plaza best for steaks. There is a newer restaurant on the edge of the Plaza, Stock Hill. It's local and also quite good.

I should add, neither are bargains, but go ahead and splurge. Both make a mean martini.
