Stevenson's Library-Kauai

When I was at the Hyatt a few years ago, they played a video at the bar of the damage of hurricane Iniki that was incredible to watch, does anyone know if they still play it? We are returning this Sunday and I would love for my husband to see it.

Thanks

I don't know what video they played at the Hyatt but a friend who goes to Kauai picked up a video called "Hurricane Iniki" - Through The Eyes of Kauai's People. I thought she said she got it at
Wal Mart on Kauai. She thought my husband & I would enjoy it as we had been there the year before the hurricane and will be going back in Feb. The video was unbelievable. Have fun on your trip!

Mahalo Joan!

I will check that out. From what I can recall this video was specific to the hotel and the staffs efforts before/during and after Iniki. It was unbelievable.

Maybe someone who has been there lately will respond.

Aloha Karen,
Since I had to make a call over to the Kauai Hyatt, I asked the operator if they still show it. "No...Thank goodness". Ouch!

She said she thought they quit showing it just last month. Timing IS everything.

I do recall being able to pick up all sorts of Iniki videos just about everywhere over there.
I recall seeing some video on the the damage to the Princeville Hotel and the Sheraton but not the whole tape.

If not:

Have a safe trip and a fun time!

Thank you for your research. After I made this post I also e-mailed Hyatt and they responded today(with the some info). I will now seek out a video on Iniki in gnenral as suggested by you and Joan.

And your right, timing IS everything, especially as it relates to this trip. We were at LAX the morning of 9/11 on our way (we thought) to Kauai for this LONG awaited trip(a second honeymoon of sorts).
If at first you don't succeed try, try again! We will try this Sunday, Yippeee!

Thank you for your input

Aloha
Karen

You can buy a copy at Hilo Hattie in Kauai.
