Steamboat-March-Apr

Has anyone stayed at Storm Meadow at Christie Base? Planning a trip out to Steamboat Springs and wanted to know if the skiing is still good March 30th-April 6th? What is the temperature like? What ski attire would be recommended during this time. Thank You.

Lucky you! I don't know anything about Storm Meadow, but late-season skiing can be the best skiing of the year. Try to bring lighter ski-wear, as it may be warm enough to wear it. For example, a light wind-breaker sort of jacket rather than a ski jacket, which you can wear over a turtleneck. You would probably still need ski pants, but maybe no long underwear underneath. It'll be warm while you're skiing, but still cool on the chair lifts.

I stayed at Storm Meadows a few years ago, some of the units are nice, some not so. It is at the base and it is noisy. Usually good skiing end of March, although weather patterns have been wierd the last few years.

Hi Mercy. Do not know anything about your lodging.

As far as clothing I'd bring it all. A light shell that you can layer with a fleece, poly prop and more. You will need ski pants if only to protect yourself from a fall and to keep dry. If its snowing, and most likley it will you will want to have layers to take on and off as need be. Great time of year to come and Steamboat is a great place!

We did Storm Meadow a full 5 years ago and it looked a little warn but it was clean and we had a wood burning fireplace and a well stocked kitchen and the location was great. I remember thinking how nice it was to zip in and out of it for lunch. Walking to dinner was easy as well.
