Steamboat Grand Resort Sept, been there?

Hello, we are considering a week at the grand resort hotel in Steamboat. Anyone been there? Nice activities on site? What else to do in Steamboat in Sept and how's the weather average? Thanks!

We stayed there a couple of years ago at Thanksgiving just after it opened. The Grand is an EXCELLENT place. As for skiing, it's not slopeslide, but just across the street. The walk to the lift is very short and not too inconvenient. Worth it. We had a spacious kitchen and living area with a bedroom on each side each with full bath. There is also a full bath in the common area. That way, if you can do with one bedroom (king or 2 doubles),you will still have 2 full bathrooms along with the common areas. You will appreciate all the well thought out details. It's first class yet warm, friendly, and comfortable. I would go back in a minute. You can't go wrong here and will in fact be pleasantly surprised. Enjoy!

Honestly, I can't help you there. With the wonderful kitchen, we did our own meals. There was a big grocery store, but not walking distance. You need a car. Oh, I forgot one other thing - minor to us but maybe not to some. Our rented SUV (4WD Excursion)
was just inches too tall to drive into the underground parking so we had to park across the street just a few steps from the hotel front doors. Sometimes, to go ahead and park underground, one of us did get out and manually held up the drop-down clearance while sign to drive in. Once in, the top of the SUV could clear the ceiling, but barely!

Wow! That will be important to us since we drive a mini van on long trips. Thanks for the heads up. It looks like a great place to stay. Ever been to St. James Place in Beaver Creek? We are wondering which is nicer, the Grand or St. James. St. James has an indoor pool we read. Thanks for the input. I may need to post this as a different topic.

Never been to Beaver Creek. Sorry. I assume you looked at steamboatgrand.com. The virtual tours on "floorplans" are great. They are not floorplan drawings but actual pictures. The common areas are an accurate reflection, but I think the rooms and suites are nicer and warmer than they appear. The whole place was very nice, comfortable, without being stuffy.
