Indian Market, the single biggest event (I think) of the year in Santa Fe is towards the end of August. If it coincides with your visit, obviously it's a must. You might have trouble finding a hotel room though as these get booked a year in advance. Here's a website with info

Spanish Market is even better in Sante Fe. The galeries are amazing. You must see Miguel Martinez's work. My fav! You have to try some chile. There is an outdoor sculpture museum, Shudoni, I think it is called. The native americans sell goods in the Plaza all weekend and some on weekdays. When are you going, maybe I could tell you more if I knew when.
