Starwood Hotels at LAX

I have enough Starwood points to stay at either the Four Points Hotel or the Sheraton at LAX airport for one night. The Sheraton is 1000 more points than the Four Points. Which one do you recommend? Are the extra points worth it to stay at the Sheraton?

Tiffany,I stayed at the Four Points
Sheraton at LAX this past March for
one night on my way to Tahiti.I plan on making this place my LAX hotel in the future too.Rooms were nice, service is good, free airport shuttle, and their restaurant off the lobby was nice too.I was impressed.
Especially for $60 for the night.
They were running a special.

If it is the Sheraton Gateway, then yes it is worth the 1000 points. Gateway is like 4-star, while Four Points is only like 2 1/2 - 3 star.

Stayed at the Four Points for a week last summer. The rooms & service were good. Didn't use the restaurant or the outside pool. Saw a number of airline crews from various airlines staying there. I would stay there again. But if you have, or are renting a car, you need to be careful of the parking, especially on weekend nights. They rent out all the parking spaces they can, to anybody they can, whether they are attending a function at that hotel or some where else in the area. They just keep sending you back to the parking areas, even though they are full, & it took about 45 minutes to check if any spots were open, & contend with the other cars already looking & then on the way out, to contend with the cars they were still sending back to the parking. But once we did get back out front, they openned up their valet parking areas to paying guests of the hotel. Hopefully they have upgraded the parking since then.

Hey Debbie! I'm the same Tiffany from the French Polynesian board. I'm going to owe you big for all of the advice.

Luckily, we don't have to park. We just need the room for a one night stay while we wait for our connecting flight.

Has anyone eaten at the Sheraton Gateway. I am sure a good meal is the first thing that we will want.

I've stayed at both for business. I've also stayed at the Westin which I really like! (it is a Starwood property) but why burn the points when it's only ~$60 per night? And, if you're just there on an overnight, I wouldn't use extra points since what you really need is just a clean room with a bed.

Is it really just $60 a night? I didn't even look at the price, since I just assumed that I would use the points. Is that $60 rate available through the Starwood site or something like hot rooms? Thanks for all of the feedback.
