Stanford Univ. Area hotels

In June my husband and I will be driving into the San Fran area from King's Canyon on a Friday. We wish to stay in the Stanford area that night and will be departing the San Fran airport Sat. around noon. Any suggestions for a hotel?

If you want to be close to the campus, a Sheraton and a Westin are both right across El Camino from the Palm Drive entrance. We like the Sheraton for the courtyard, koi pond, and swimming pool. The Westin is newer more up-scale. The Garden Court on Cowper St. downtown gets rave reviews, but it is pricy.

We stayed in a very large suite with a large wrap around terrace, complete with surround sound, at the Garden Court - exquisite hotel!

Add to this list the Cowper Inn. It is a quaint B&B in downtown Palo Alto.

http://www.athertoninn.com/ Highly recommended, but not right there at Stanford. It's a few miles north--toward SFO in the Atherton/Woodside area.
