St. Simon's or Jekyll Island in December
6 siblings get together for 4 days every December the week before Xmas. we are deciding between St. Simon's or Jekyll Island. We are in our 70s but all physically fit. We want to go somewhere where there are many choices for restaurants for dinner and something to do related to Christmas. I see that the islands are not that far from each other so we could go to both but we just want to stay in one place for the 4 nights. I would also like your opinion on a hotel or resort in either place. Thank you for your help.

Much of Jekyll Island is protected as a state park. There are 10 miles of beach, a 250-acre Historic Landmark District, and the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. Beach-combing, hiking, horseback riding, sailing and bicycling are all available. You can stay in an historic 19th Century hotel.

My husband and I camped on Jekyll a few years ago the first of December. They were putting all the Christmas decorations up. They even had a Christmas Village area. The downtown area had quite a few restaurants and there are some restaurants along the bike path that goes around the island.
Jekyll Island Beach club is a resort on the island you can look into.

I’ve been to St. Simon’s but just for a day trip.
