We sit in seats in section 232 and it is shaded during much of the day games and you also get some coverage there if it rains. It is not shady there at 6 or 7pm, however and you'll get the sun in your face for an hour or so until it sets.
Though BBQ really does belong to our KC neighbors, the Bandana's chain in STL (there's one by the airport even) is really good, reasonable in price, and has 6 different sauces to try. The St Louis Brewery and Tap Room and its sister restaurant Shlafly Bottleworks in the Maplewood suburb have great local food items on the menu and lots of beers to try. Went there last week with guests from NY and they loved it. Lots of little restaurants opening up elsewhere in Maplewood too.
Try Milo's 5201 Wilson Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110 on "the Hill" for a game of Bocce Ball (from Italy) and bar food. Or Modesto, also on the Hill if you'd like to try Spanish-style tapas food and Sangria.
The History Museum has a display of artifacts from the Vatican this summer.
