St. Louis Cardinals: World Series champs
Isn't anyone going to stand up and cheer for St. Louis Cardinals winning the World Series? They really outscrapped the Detroit Tigers in close contests worth watching on TV. Fact is, I felt sorry for Tiger players making so many errors. But hand to the Cards, they deserve to win with unexpected stellar performances from presumed so-so pitchers and hitters.
Now reading a biography "Musial" by local university prof. Jim Giglio. Reminds me of bygone days when as a kid in St. Louis the Cards won the World Series in 1942 and overwhelmed the favored Yankees. I used to track the batting averages of Musial, Cooper, Slaughter, Kurowski, Moore on a daily basis.
So let's celebrate some good baseball!

Congrats to the Cards and their fans - it was a well-deserved win. I just couldn't help thinking about the last World Series won in the same place... two years ago when the Red Sox finally won! I'm glad the Cards got their win THIS year!

Congrats to the Cards -- being from Motown the Tigers have really given the city an emotional boost! I think we can give the players a break for not winning. It seems you have to first experience losing a series final before you have the sense of how to stay focused to win. The team is young -- and will be back.
My favorite sign -- "Hit it to the pitcher!".
It was also great to see so many youngsters at the game. What a memory for the future generation. You don't see that family atmosphere at the Superbowl.
Thumbs down to Fox announcers -- in the same monotone voice - the St. Louis Cardinals have won the World Series. Show a little excitement -- I feel sorry for the fans who have to listen to that crew during the regular season. McCarver seems to talk to us in an simpleton way. I wished I could have watched and listen to the radio play by play but the delay was annoying.
