St. John/Tortola
We are meeting friends in Tortola Jan 07 and need to stay one or two nights in Tortola or maybe in St John. Anyone have suggestions? Keep rates low for us(husband & I) we will stay with our friends who will be renting a sailboat in Tortola (Friday to Friday)so it would be the night we arrive and after the return of the sailboat. It may turn out we could stay longer we don't go broke by then....
Also, any special places to see?

Tortola definately has cheaper rooms than STJ. A lot of places in STJ want you to book 2 nights. Try Jolly Roger Inn, in Soper's Hole, it may even be where your friends catch their rental boat.
You can visit STJ with the boat. Also do not miss Jost Van Dyke, White Bay and Great Harbor.

Mongoose Apts and Cane Garden Bay Villas in Tortola are reasonable and good location. We stayed at Long Bay which was great, but in January will be high. So will most other places in either place. Tortola is great...be SURE to take ferry to Jost Van Dyke and visit the Baths on Virgin Gorda. Go really early, though, it gets packed.

Maria's By The Sea and Village Cay Marina are both in very close proximity to the ferry in downtown Road Town.
There are also both right where the charter boats go out.
Moorings also has accommodations onsight.
Cane Garden Bay is a beautiful beach.
