springdale restaurants - 2010 version
I've done some research to see what restaurants are recommended in Springdale and most threads are older. Any suggestions from recent (2009-2010) experiences that you would recommend? Thanks!

We were there again in April 2010. Eating out can get tiresome and our favorite thing to do is get takeout and sit on our balcony and enjoy the view or picnic down by the river.
Oscars is great for that. Also the health food store at the north end of town (Sunshine Foods??). Sol Foods also has a new grocery store in the center of town with a deli and gourmet items as well as decent grocery fare.
Other than that, we enjoyed our meals at the restaurant at Zion Lodge (really! and it was reasonably priced)! And we like the tamales at Bit and Spur.

We ate at the Spotted Dog and Oscars while there. The Spotted Dog is nicer, and we met a couple from Boston while hiking in the park who just raved about it. The outdoor patios are nice, and we had nice salads with great dressings, obviously home made. They also served some bread crisps with a tepanade that was very nice. My wife had trout that was as good as any she's had, but my braised lamb shank was not the best. Lovely place, though. Another thing I liked about it was that we chatted with couples at adjacent tables while we were there. One couple was from Berlin, and another was from Las Vegas - for some reason, I just love that!
We loved Oscar's - good beer, great outdoor patio, and very good mexican food.

We just returned from our 8th trip to Springdale. Our favorite restaurants are Whiptail Grill,Oscars, and the Switchback Grill. Los Amigos was also good. We were very disappointed with The Flying Monkey(service atrocious) and Parallel 88(too ambitious with very mediocre food)

We were in Springdale overnight in April. We had a very nice dinner at the Spotted Dog Cafe, and a great lunch at Oscar's. Sadly, I didn't take notes on what we ordered, and can't remember anymore, but I recall that we really enjoyed our lunch at Oscar's.

Thanks for the input on restaurants. We ended up eating at Zion Pizza & Noodle - it was GREAT! Also ate at Whiptail Grill. It was definitely interesting - my husband thought it was really good, I thought it was okay. Not really my type of food. We also ate at one of the Mexican food establishments -- Los Amigos(?) -- and did not like it at all! LOVED the Springdale area, oh yeah, and Zion!!!

jill,
Glad you had a good time and some tasty food. Looks like you lucked into the last of the perfect weather. I was in Bryce for 4 days and couldn't believe it was actually so warm this time of year. Southwestern and central UT are having heavy rains this week.
