Spokane or Boise after Salmon River rafting

We have a 3 day raft trip in July, and we start and finish in Riggins, ID. Family trip, 6 adults, four kids ages 12 and under. Will want to spend 3 or 4 days at the beginning or end of the trip. Wondering whether to fly into Boise or Spokane. That decision would be based on some nice things to see and do for our group. Wife and I have been to both areas, briefly. We did enjoy driving thru the Palouse, and spending a night in Couer D'Alene, so I am leaning toward that area. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I really enjoy Boise--be sure to see the Bird of Prey rehab program there. The art museum, old state pen, the river way, etc. And really good Basque food.
