There's plenty of spam on Trip Advisor: just read some of those reviews and you'll see.

Are you kidding? You think there is no spam on trip advisor? There is so much spam it's hard to find legit posts.

And your redundant posts complaining about spam are just another variety of spam.

What Kathie said. Stop posting here and start emailing the editors if it bothers you so much.

First of all, yes, it's redundant. All you're doing is annoying an already annoyed board with more threads about spam.

Second, "bully pulpit" does not mean what you think it means.

why so angry? I guess the spam has been an issue for awhile, just came onto the forum a few days ago. so everyone else just lives with it. and shout's down anyone who brings it up? why not a more helpful civil tone? that seems counter to the whole purpose of the forum.

Where do you get that I'm angry? Or uncivil? I am telling you that complaining about spam here is not productive, only annoying. That is the most helpful thing you could possibly hear on this topic.

I agree with you wike it is extremely frustrating especially when there is a 17 hour time difference!! When I go to read the US forum in the evening, it is just full of spam.

that is exactly my point that people come to this forum and if they ask a question it gets buried! and doesn't get the helpful forum response, perhaps they should title their question spam etc.... ok newbe I'm annoying, and I'm annoying you! and annoying everyone eles who is being annoyed by the annoying spam, well, that's just annoying,to everyone else that want's to be annoyed. I am sorry that I bothered you, or anyone else on this forum. I was reaching out for information on route 66. sorry to bother everyone, wishing all love , light and happiness.

regards,safe travels

wlke, I agree with your sentiment. Fodor's apparent inability to implement basic spam protection on this site (e.g. checks for spam links in message titles, implementing a waiting period for new accounts before posting is allowed etc) has left us scratching our heads. We don't even bother with the travel forums at night on this site any more, until they're cleaned up in the morning.

But posting HERE doesn't help, fix, change, improve . . . anything. There is nothing any of us can do about it.

E-mail the monitors and complain to them, not kvetch on the boards.

Just click on the little yellow triangle in the upper right hand corner of the spam post and move on.

The triangle thingy does not work for me, the pop-up screen is placed such that one can not "SUBMIT" and there is no way to move the screen. There is one that needs to be triangled right now and I can't. Blaaaaaaaaah

It's 10:15 pacific time, and no spam yet.

I haven't had any trouble hitting the Submit button, BTW.
