Southwest Airlines

Does anyone know if there is a pattern to the opening up of the next fare schedule for SouthWest. I'm trying to figure out if it is always extended for the same length of time when they advance it. Now they are accepting reservations up to June 9th. Before that jump they were excepting reservations until March 31st (10 weeks apart). Will the next be August18th (10 weeks)? I'm trying to plan a vacation in October and I wish I knew if the schedule is always advances 10 weeks.

To my recollection, the jumps are usually shorter than this last one.

If you put yourself on their e-mail list will they send you a notice that new schedules are about to open or have opened?

Download and install their "Ding!" program. It will email you when the dates you need are available.

I haven't found a pattern at all with their scheduling. Even if you call them, they don't know when they open up for future dates. Take the advice given and install "Ding". I am also waiting, going on vacation Jul.30...I check every day

Don't know if there is a "regular"pattern . However, it seems since Christmas they send out the "bargain" rate-- e-mail on tuesdays(usually extend 10 weeks)
then often send special shorter duration rates on thurs or Friday
I just booked Sacramento to Portland OR. for $ 39 ($ 98 RT with taxes)
these specials only apply until Mar 8th
Obviously these lower rates go quickly.
Plus "DING" is really helpfulif you have a planned destination...

This is the Southwest 'Ding' I got last night:

Orlando to Albany for $44-$49 One-Way!
- Fare is valid for travel everyday, March 1 through June 9, 2006 only

It say's 'valid for travel everyday' but NO it's not.My return date of April 9th had the 8AM for $147 and the 11:15am for $167.Those are the one-way fares that are 'supposedly' $44-49 one-way.
In other words even if you sign up for 'Ding' they may advertise the fare as $44 to $49 one-way but they don't OFFER the fare on all dates as stated...
