Southernmost Hotel in Key West

Has anyone stayed at this hotel? I did a search on the name and did not come up with any hits. I also read the postings regarding key west and did not see this property mentioned. We are going to Key West in May and we are looking for a room less than $150 a night in a good location with a swimming pool. Any recommendations are appreciated!!!!!

I've never stayed at this property, but have seen widely varying reports of it. One person called it "shabby" and said they left after one night...others said it was a good value for the money.
I notice, though, that you're looking for a good location. I'm not sure if that means you want peace and quiet, or would like to be in the center of tourist activity and restaurants, but if it's the latter that appeals to you, the North end of Duval might please you more. All the sunset activities and most of the restaurants, etc. are on the Gulf side of Key West whereas the Southernmost Hotel is on the Atlantic side.

There are a couple Southernmost's. There is a Southernmost Point Motel which is run by a national motel chain (I forget which one). There is also the Southernmost Point Guest House, which is a B&B. We just got back from there. It is a nice B&B. It is an old historic house (registered as such) that I thought was nicely appointed. The B&B has a jacuzzi but no pool.
Did you try Keywest.com?

Haven't stayed there, but walked by and it didn't look too impressive. We went a year ago and stayed at CenterCourt Historic Inn and Cottages - very nice. They have several cottages that are divided into units. We had an efficiency with kitchen, private deck and hot tub shared with the two other units in our cottage. Lots of nice touches. Was only $109 a night, included continental breakfast, a pool at the main house and very close to everything (1 block from Duvall). They have lots of units, from a basic room to suites. Have fun in Key West - it is beautiful... one of our best vacations yet.

I stayed there New Years Eve 1990. For the money you can't go wrong. They have a great hot tub and pool side bar. It's clean. Although the rooms on the backside border another building and can be dark, providing no view. But if you're looking to just sleep and catch poolside sun, I'd recommend it.
