Peter, When your post shows up in the general US forum, readers will not know what state you are talking about.

By far South Seas is the nicer of the two. It might also be the pricer one. As far as the kids are concerned, the island is very laid back & relaxing with some of the best beaches & shelling in the world. Lots of excellent restaurants in the area as well. My favorite, the Bubble Room is not to be missed.

We have two kids exactly the same ages as yours- we are on our fourth trip to the island and have stayed at the Sanibel Inn (which is a south seas resort) We like that one because it is small- the sundial is huge. You still have access to the sundial's kids programs too. You will love the island- it is very casual during the summer and full of kids and families like yours. Good luck and enjoy.

We thoroughly enjoy Sanibel. I think it's a great place for children . Very casual and relaxing. We rent a condo from Priscilla Murphy Vacation rentals : 1-888-265-1740. They have a great selection of condos at different prices, depending what you prefer and need. We have vacationed on Sanibel for the past 20 -25 yrs.and think it's a very special place !
Have a good trip !
