I know paranoid! I once set two alarms for a very early flight -- because we have a lot of power outages in the summer. My phone rang a half hour after we were to get up. Our tenant in our guest house didn't see any lights and wondered why we weren't up as he knew our schedule. It seems the power had failed and the electric alarm was flashing. So what happened to the travel alarm? Would you believe that the battery (which lasts a couple years at least) died about one hour before the alarm was to go off?

Anyway, where is LAG airport? Is that anywhere near LGA?

LAG airport only exists in the mind of someone who arose under protest at 4:30 am, she said blushingly.

She heard that people who arrive at LAG from overseas suffer terribly from jet lga.

Good catch!

No CP, I haven't gotten the tickets yet. I am going to do what Patrick suggested and order by phone.

Thanks again for your help last night CP. My father in law was excited when I told him today at brunch that he was going to see South Pacific.

Does he have a CD player? Maybe listening to the CD ahead of time will stretch out the excitement for him. I think I'm going to buy it - something I haven't done in years.

I really believe that familiarity with the music (given a great production) adds to the enjoyment.

Life is short - grab the pleasure wherever you can.

NeoPatrick, that's a great tip on the Playbill discount - thanks for posting it! Let me return the favor. There's a website called Wakerupper that will call and wake you up wherever you are:

Paula1470, do you live near Sacramento? I'll be at the Music Circus in August for Evita with Eric Kunze. I am cruising for Sac recommendations. I'll post a separate question, hoping you or someone else will reply. Thanks.

maggi-No I live in San Diego County. But my daughter does theatre all over California. Yes, start another thread, I am sure you will get some good advice from the Fodorites living in the Sacramento area. I am also somewhat familiar with hotels, etc in Sacramento.

Paula, you or your daughter might know of Eric. He hails from Vista, near San Diego and got his start on Broadway when he was cast as Marius in Les Miz at the age of 20, seventeen years ago. His fansite is www.erickunze.com

If we're talking about the really original star in Gypsy, it was Ethel Merman.

Regarding buying the CD from Amazon or elsewhere, I'm assuming people were talking about getting the brand new one -- from the current revival? It is only being released today. I assume since Centralparkgirl said hers was shipping today, she did mean the new one.

Yes, I ordered the new edition which is released today. BTW, the CD for "A Catered Affair" comes out today too. My reaction: who would want it? There is something for everybody I guess.
