Heading to South Beach for Christmas 12/25/02: need some recommendations for some EXCELLENT places to dine, not just "in Places". Also any great outdoor dining places?????

What type of cuisine do you want, and what type of atmosphere?

Mainly interested in excellent food of any type and as to atmosphere----not rocking but different. Sorry to be so vague

Two suggestions. For wonderful outdoor dining, Todd Oldham's restuarant Wish at The Hotel.
Yucca on Lincoln Road is simply great cuban inspired dining. Also fun outside there for the people watching as you dine.

Klolliver, Sorry I can't help you, but I have a request. Would you mine posting a trip report upon your return? My husband and I are going to South Beach in January for a childfree long weekend and would love to hear about any great finds in terms of restaurants or nightspots.
