Well, checked forum for advice & have got our 2006 hol done & Dusted. This is what we plan to do: Arrive Philadelphia go to Paradise PA dutch, 1 night, on to Lewisburg 1 night, then wellsboro 1 night, (all pituressque/historic towns plus sights we will see on way to. over into NY state 1 night Mount morris (Letchworth) from there go to Niagara falls (Canada side) for 2 nights via east aurora. From Niagara fo to Mumford next to Genesee county village 1 night, onto Lake Caynunga (via penn yan) staying 2 nights at Aurora hotel, Drive bacfk into Pennsylvania staying 2 nights in the lovely town of Jim Thorpe, last day head back home. We hope to see lots of love countryside and lots of qaint towns, I believe and hope that all the towns i'v picked are pretty as I did lots of homework, have booked some of the loveliest B&B & Motels (read trip advisor reports etc) before I booked anything, so I think they will all be fab, Have been to Pennsylvania before (toured last year going virginia thruto williamsburg/getttsburg etc) so hope this hol is as good, also toured new england much same planning and saw loads, but never felt rushed. anyway any advice/comments as to what you think of our planned itinery

Lake Caynunga? I am curious, the lakes in that area would be Keuka (Penn Yan & Hammondsport) Seneca (Geneva & Watkins Glen) and Cayuga (Aurora & Ithaca) Penn Yan seems a bit out of the way from Mumford to Aurora.

your right its lake cayuga, not much for typing!! may not see penn yan if its too far, with all the best laid plans you have to keep a bit of flexibility, but in theory hope it works. Anyway, are they nice places and I thought i posted this under finger lakes/ new york

When you're in Wellsboro, I'd recommend heading down to the Blackwell Hotel for lunch on thier patio. Blackwell is about a 25 minute drive down 287 through Morris. Enjoy.

Jim Thorpe is really a beautiful little place. If you like to browse there are a lot of great little stores. If you want a little exercise you can walk or rent bikes and ride a beautiful trail that goes along the Lehigh Gorge just a few minutes from town. I can tell you where to go if you're interested. Stop into Molly Maguire's for a Guinness. Smoky but friendly.
