Is it OK to wear socks with crocs ?

Defeats the purpose in summer.

I wore them on the farm with fleece socks.

I now have light green, army green, and lavender. I refueled while we were in FL ar ar.

Oh yes, it was my husband who got them first at a marine supply store. I laughed and told him they were the ugliest things I'd ever seen. By afternoon, after trying his on, I owned my first pair.

I only wear socks with Crocs in the winter, or when on a plane.

Oh, and NO ONE wants to see your bare feet on a plane. I put on socks so I can kick them off on the plane. I have some paper thin, very low socks that cover up my feet but don't make me hot.

Crocs can be hot with socks and they slide too much, which caused my feet to hurt after about 3 hours.

I can walk all day (10+ hours) in sockless Crocs.

Another bonus with Crocs is that they seem to give pretty good footing in riverbeds.
They float.
You can wear them right into the shower. Great for daily cleaning when traveling and avoiding grungy shower stalls.
Toss them in the laundry every week or two and they look like new.

It doesnt seem quite fair that croc wearers can wear socks without being made fun of but sandal wearers can't

LHS, you have offered the only valid excuse for wearing socks with sandals -- absolutely no other option available

I would make fun of someone wearing socks with crocs. I would also make fun of someone wearing crocs without socks. I don't care how comfy those things are supposed to be...HOW did rubber clogs become fashionable?!

Because they are so blasted COMFORTABLE!!!

I didn't buy my first pair of Crocs. I had no intention of buying a pair of Crocs. A friend who bought the lime green wanted a "quieter color" and gave me the Crocs.

Crocs are like crack.

There. The truth is out. Once you wear them, you can't imagine wearing anything else. Oh, you will, of course. Rules. Fashion. Convention. All that crap. But, every chance you get, the Crocs are on your feet because it's like sliding your foot into a cloud of Bliss!

I bought my second pair in Canada when my feet were KILLING me. I almost cried the relief was so immediate.

If you don't like the way they look, WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T TRY THEM ON. You'll be addicted to crack, excuse me, Crocs from then on.

Same thing with Dansko's. Fashionazis will of course have nothing nice to say about them but there's a reason they are so popular with people who spend 8,10,12 hours on their feet.

Someone asked "when did Crocs become fashionable?" - I would say that they haven't. Comfortable - sure. Popular - obviously. Fashionable - never. If you are someone who says "I don't care how it looks/what anyone thinks I wear x because it's/they're comfortable", so be it, but have the sense to know that that still doesn't make it fashionable.

Just about anything can be categorized as fashionable by definition.

Let's see...when I'm out and about wearing my Crocs I'm not trying to catch your eye and read your face to see whether or not you think my footwear is "fashionable" or not. Heck, when I'm out and about in Italian dress shoes I'm not trying to see whether or not you approve of my footwear.

Who the heck cares what someone else deems "fashionable"?

But, if it bothers you that much, whatever you do, DO NOT put your foot into a Croc. You'll be lost for life

Even though many people think Crocs are comfortable, they are not for everybody. My kid bought a pair & wore them because it is the in thing. They weren't comfortable to the kid, but still kept wearing them because all the kids are. After going to the doctor & having an ingrown toenail removed, caused by wearing those things, the kid has no desire to wear crocs again, with or without socks.

He was wearing the wrong size. My toes don't even touch the end of the Croc. He'd have that problem with any shoe he was wearing that was too small.

Were you with him when he bought the shoes? Did you check the room in the toe area?

Exactly! Crocs don't cause ingrown toenails--too small shoes do. The toe box of that shoe is pretty wide, far wider than the average foot! I am certain THAT was not his problem. I think one of my feet is a bit longer than the other. In one croc, my toes touched the end, but just barely. The other shoe was perfect. Reading their website gave me the solution...the straps stretch if you pull them. Do it ever so slightly to gradually arrive at the perfect fit if you too have lopsided feet.

Actually, now I'm a strap forward person, but if you aren't, that's how to correct that problem if it is a problem.

Yeah, Crocs need to have a space at both ends.
Aslo... some people claim that you are more likely to fall wearing Crocs but my podiatrist says that there does not seem to be much to support that claim.
People fall, twist ankles, etc... wearing tennis, sandals and all sorts of shoes all the time.
I have tripped (but not fallen) a couple of times, which is about normal for me
As with most shoes, if you do not pick your feet up when you walk, you run the risk of tripping.
