Snowmobiling in VT

Does anyone out there have any good suggestions for which area in South/South Central Vermont we should go to experience some great VT snowmobiling? Also do you have any suggestions on Hotels/Motels etc. to stay in in that area?

Can't seem to find too much specific information about this sport in VT. Mostly all info is about the skiing. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Woodford, VT is Southern Vermont's snowmobiling "capital". It's located between Bennington and Wilmington on Route 9. Check out http://www.snobusters.com for trail and accomodation information. You'll have to join a club in order to use your sled on the trails. Snowbusters is the biggest around.
If you want to venture futher north, Island Pond is Vermont's other snowmobiling "capital".
Have fun!

Thanks for the info bm.

We had found some information that said we had to join a snowmobile club, so I expected that. I also read some overview info on the VT state site that indicated where the clubs were located. But beyond that I could find any additional info.

Do you know if we would have to register our sleds in VT? (We are from NYS and our registered here). Thanks

No, you won't have to register your sled in Vermont. You'll have to show proof of your NYS registration when purchasing your club/TMA pass. The VAST website I provided before should explain all the rules/regulations.
