Snowmass vs. Beaver Creek vs. Steamboat
Thanks to all who responded to my previous post, we have now narrowed our choice to these 3 mountains.
How do these compare - lodging, skiing, restaurants, atmosphere, price, etc.
We are looking for a good lower-intermediate mountain - lots of groomed green and blue trails, with as FEW snowbarders as possible, and not horrendous lift lines.
We also like a down-home atmosphere rather than fru fru chic and would love a village where there are things to do rather than party - casual restaurants, dog sled rides, shopping, etc. If there's no "ski village" we'd like a resort in or very near the town (providing it offers the same). We're also looking for nice condo type lodging - preferably ski on/ski off.
Of these 3 choices we've heard that Steamboat is nice but town is not near mountain and nice lodging is limited, Beaver Creek is pricey (how pricey?) but great and nothing bad so far about Snowmass.
