Smuggler's Notch Resort--good choice? Need opinions!

We're considering it in March (2 families). IS it wickedly cold in March in Vermont? Seems to be a good pick for families. Any info appreciated!

Cyndy, Smuggler's Notch is also available as a timeshare exchange and the reviews from others who have stayed there rate it very high, on the Timeshare User's Group BBS (www.tug2.net). As far as weather goes, try www.weather.com or www.weatherpost.com and look in either for their 'historical' weather links to find out what the weather averages are for that time of year. If you are going on a timeshare exchange, I suggest you check out the TUG site and learn more about timesharing.

We went to Smuggler's Notch in Late March 2 years ago. Unfortunately, they were having a very early, warm spring. The snow was melting and very slushy. You'll probably be fine if you're going in early march.

We found several positive and negatives about the resort. The positives--great ski program for kids, nice accommodations and some fun apris ski activities. The negatives--we thought it was very expensive compared to other (nicer) resorts and what was offered and there is nothing else in the area but the resort.

We have never returned, simply because there are other all-inclusive resorts that are not as expensive, and in our opinion, nicer and more enjoyable.

I read the major ski magazines (skiing, ski etc) and every year (or so it seems) Smuggs gets rated as the #1 ski resort for families.
As for temps, what do you consider "wickedly" cold? Most likely it'll be in the low to mid 30s. HOWEVER, temps in New England can change drastically. It could be 45 one day and the next 25 and a blizzard. Good advice to check out weather.com Somewhere in the site is a page that list temps by month. If you can't plug in Jeffersonville (where Smuggs is) try Stowe or Burlington. Also, check out Smugglers webpage--they may have weather info.
