SLC Trip
Going to SLC in May for a week of family research. We are heading out a few days early and would like to know what "must sees" there are without spending a whole day traveling. A few hours would be fine. Thanks for any advice. Rose

Rose,
Are you planning to spend a few days sightseeing and a few researching?
Trips from SLC:
Sundance Resort and a drive over the Alpine Loop, down American Fork Canyon, returning to SLC
(if the road is open by then)
add a hike to Timpanogas Cave (American Fork Canyon) if you want to spend the whole day
A day in Park City, 30 minutes east from SLC
Golden Spike Monument (where the railroads met)

I grew up in SLC and loved it then. One thing we did long ago, and is still a fun outing, I think, is the Homestead...great dining room, guest rooms, hot springs., etc., set among some of the most beautiful scenery in the world (and I have seen most of the world)...and as you drive up north Temple, blow a kiss to all my beloved, who are burried in the City Cemetery just above that street...hope you enjoy. Oh yes, if you cn get in to hear the Tabernacle Mormon Choir on a Sunday a.m., it is so worth it.!!!
