Ski Resorts in Killington, VT?
Can anyone recommend a good place to stay for a skiing weekend in Killington? There will be four of us and we are looking to stay in a nice condominium with all the amenities...fireplace, jacuzzi, etc. We'd also like to be pretty close to the mountain. Restaurant suggestions would also be welcome. Thanks in advance!

HI Allyson
I wrote to you about NY. Thanks for your help. My husband and I were there in early Oct.
We've been to Killington a couple of times and have always stayed at the Inn of Six Mountains . However, it's a hotel not a condo but we enjoyed it. There's a Killington reservation service you can call-they'll book lodging, lift tickets etc.. There's a very good Italian restaurant called Jasons inside the Red Roof Inn (believe it or not).

Ally ! I, too, am still grateful for your NYC recommendations. Especially Sonia Rose. Still trying to duplicate the warm goat cheese salad. Best place to stay in Killington is the Cortina Inn (http://www.cortinainn.com/). The dining room is staffed by the New England Culinary Institute. Beautiful restaurant. Gorgeous two-story lobby with round hearth in center. Suites with fireplaces and whirlpools, some with lofts. For an idyllic setting, though, in nearby Chittenden, is the Mountain Top Inn (http://www.innbook.com/mountain.html). This is a totally self-contained "resort". In addition to rooms in the inn, they offer numerous cottages and chalets. Be sure to reserve (well in advance) at Hemingway's - probably the best restaurant in all of Vermont. Chandeliers, fresh flowers, high-ceilinged main room, garden room, stone-walled wine cellar. Incredible food!

do yourself a favor and forget killington. it is THE most overrated ski area in the country. sugarbush and stowe both are far superior all the way around. while killington has great bars and restaurants, it's ski terrain is awful, the prices for everything are outrageous, our condo there (can't remember the name) was expensive AND sub-par (it frankly stunk) and the place has an attitude. sugarbush was a bit lacking on the dining/nightlife side when we were there in 1990. it may be better now, but if that is what you really want, go to stowe. in either case, the skiing a
and the experience will be better than killington.
