Short-stay apartments in NYC

I will be making the move from London to NYC in the New Year and am looking for a short-stay apartment or inexpensive hotel accomodation to help tide me over until I find something more long term. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Hi Kate,

I don't know about short-term sublets, but I know several people have had good luck with the Beacon Hotel (Upper West Side, 67th and Broadway?) - they have mini-apartments with kitchenettes, and you are very close to Fairway, my favorite market! It would probably be too expensive for more than a few weeks, but might be worth looking into while you are hunting for something more permanent.

Good luck with your move,

JB

What is your budget and for what length of time do you expect to stay in such accomodations?

To Owen: my budget is around $2000 for a month. I may need to stay in the apartment for 4-6 weeks.
Thanks.
Kate
