Sheraton Portsmouth ,NH
Dear all.
I´ve booked a room for me and my party of three to spend two days at Sheraton Harborside at Portsmouth,NH on December 29,30th.
Do you think this is a good choice?
Thanks in advance

The Sheraton is fine - you can walk to everything - depending on where your room is, will depend on what view you get - they were renovating their club room floors and some other areas and were slated to be finished by this May if I remember correctly.
My two favorite places to eat are the Library -

click on "history" and read the incredible history of some of the features of the restaurant -
the other great take for breakfast is Friendly Toast
Depending on how much time you want to spend at your hotel/resort - the Wentworth by the Sea is probably my favorite lodging in the area, but I think the Sheraton is fine for touring and especially if you are out and about all day and then again for dinner -

Ramoram - we just returned from 10 days in NE. One night on the way up was at the Sheraton Harborside in Portsmouth, NH and one night on the way back was at the Wentworth-by-the-Sea in New Castle, NY (onetown over). And WOW what a difference. Sheraton is nice and we di stay on club level (this helps with a 4 yr old). The room was ultra modern and totally re-done but very small. Great location, sad indoor pool, no spa really, and no gym, good view of the the water from our room but we were club level, could walk to everything and paid for parking ($6 outdoors, $12 indoors) That was a good thing because there is construction, demolition, and traffic to deal with in such a small town. Our rate was $229 for a Friday night + tax. Now, the Wentworth (which is a Marriott property now) was spectacular in almost everyway and had great amentities. A full service spa which was fabulous, an indoor and outdoor pool and both are heated, two restaurants a lounge and fitness center. Plus, two shops. I wish we had more time here. But the rate was steep at $269 a night + tax. The only BIG draw back was the absolutely extremely small rooms. Our room had two double beds and one of the beds was right up against the HVAC closet and my poor DD had to hear the rumbles of the unit all night (AND ME TOO!) I was really peeved about my restless night sleep. So I complained at the front desk and they gave me $100 off my bill.
