SF to Crescent City 1 day??

Does this make for one very long day going the scenic route. Is it do-able? Leaving SF 10ish.
Any one stayed at the Best Western Northwoods Inn in CC?? Opinions
Thanks for your help

If by "scenic route" you mean SR1 up the coast (Bodega Bay, Mendocino, etc.) then the answer is no.

If you mean US 101, via the Redwoods, the answer is sure, around 7 hours.

Haven't stayed at that motel but have been past it. Looks okay.

Did that trip 2 summers ago in reverse(actually were going Seattle to San Francisco - it was one day of our trip). Left Crescent City in AM - I think a little earlier than 10 and arrived in San Francisco late afternoon - the non-scennic route. Stopped for lunch - so I guess driving time was 7-8 hours.

Stayed at BW Northwoods. Nothing outstanding or special, but no complaints either.

The beautiful scenic drive along the north coast is out for a one day trip. But, if you must make it in one day the inland freeway route will be OK but long. You'll be missing a lot of beauty IMHO.

Hi Kam,
Don't want to miss the scenic route. Not interested in the Freeway.Where do you recommend staying. Have read many previous posts just can't decide good layover point. WIll then be going to mid Oregon Coast following day.
Thanks
Jan
