SF- Blues Bars or other

My husband and I went to "Biscuit and Blues" bar (think that's the name) downtown a few months back and listened to some fabulous blues. Can anyone recommend another place to go for great music this weekend downtown?

There is a bar that often plays blues at the corner of Green and Vallejo, maybe Grant and Green in North Beach.

Otherwise, there is the BoomBoom room at Fillmore & Geary in Japantown started by the late John Lee Hooker.

BayArea is thinking of the Saloon in North Beach-GREAT blues bar-be sure to tip Greg the doorman/bouncer a beer.

> AND BRING EAR PLUGS!!! THE SALOON IS ONE OF OUR FAVORITE BARS. GREAT BATHROOMS!

Figger's you'd like the same bar we do r5!

I heard E & O Trading Co on Sutter has some nice music. Jazz.

Pearl's on Columbus may have reopened as another music venue.

There was a nice place on Fish Wharf near the alley to Scoma's that plays some nice rock n roll, blues etc.

And Trish...If you see a big galoot walking with a short, curvy blond this weekend in SF, be nice to me!

Hey Kal~Peg's in Chicago and reports both snow every day and great blues! Have a vunderful time in SF this weekend. Kisses to you and Mrs. Kal.
Trish, I don't know if jazz/cabaret is your thing but I'd also suggest you check out the Plush Room. It's a samll venue with some great vocalists coming through.(Paula West, Wesla Whitfield, Barbara Cook et al)

Pearls was there 3 or 4 weeks ago when I walked by, it I think it still aims as a more sedate sit down, two drink, straight up jazz place. The saloon is a way more rocking locale.

The boom boom room gets really good gigs, though, and parking is less of a challenge.
