Sept or Nov? Better time to be in Maui

For the best weather, and water sports like scuba diving, is it better to be in Maui during the month of Sept or Nov.

I can't speak to Nov., but I went last September and we had great weather. We snorkeled and spent quite a bit of time in/near the water and it was great!

I was in Kauai and Maui during the months of Sept and Oct and found that Kauai's weather was perfect, but Maui was a little on the warm side - mainly due to the lack of breeze (most hotels on Maui are on the Westside). I am going back this Nov as it will be a little cooler (avg temp is 80 degrees versus Sept temp of upper 80s), but still not in the rainy season (Dec - Feb). Good luck!!

Does anyone know what the water temperature is in early November? I'm contemplating going to Maui in early November but was afraid the water would be too cold to swim and snorkel.
