Sept of Oct. vacation Myrtle Beach
We are taking our kids and grandkids to Myrtle Beach either Sept. or Oct. First of all, which month would be the best weather wise? Second, we would like to stay on the beach in a quiet setting away from the attractions. I think the grandkids (7 & 3) will have a lot to do but we would like a quiet place to retreat to at the end of the day. Any suggestions?

We love the Forest Dunes. Your grandkids would love it, yet its in a nice almost residential area and still close to attractions. Website:www.forestdunes.com

Thank you for your information. Are there a lot less people there in Sept. and Oct. after school starts? Also, does anyone know if the rental properties through Surfside Realty Co. near Garden City are good quality? It is hard to decide from an internet photo.

I'd say Sept - you'll find many more attractions open and the weather's nice (can be a bit hot still!) and no crowds. I would suggest checking out some online packagers like myrtlebeachtrips.com where they'll help you pick out what hotel will be good for your requirements...they're great to work with. They have several oceanfront as well as Broadway at the Beach and even some nice villas away from the beach that are like small apartments where you can be close to the "stuff" to do but a nice quiet place to retreat to! Also, you can get tickets to attractions through them and save money by getting them before you get to the beach.

I was in MB last Oct. 19 -20th. Daytime temps in the 70's. Stayed at the
SeaDip. $45.00 a night, 2 room suite, with a kitchen, pool, hottub, lazy river, oceanfront. Pretty quiet, mostly senior type folks. We had a blast.
Very touristy area, but the beach was nice.
