Seeking budget Miami Restaurants

Hello fellow travelers,

If you have any budget restaurant recommendations that serve somewhat healthy food, please share here.

I am looking for places in the south beach area (as I don't drive) with a casual atmosphere. I like to eat Latin American, Spanish, Portuguese, Indian, Middle Eastern, Asian or American food. The person I'm traveling with likes big, hearty portions.

We are not into places that serve mainly pizza, sandwiches, pasta, burgers and fries. We also don't eat fish or seafood.

Is it unreasonable to hope to pay up to $15 for dinner (not including drinks or dessert)? Anywhere we could get an inexpensive breakfast of eggs, coffee and toast?

All suggestions much appreciated! Happy travels!

The food part of my Florida trip report includes a number of budget level spots in Miami and Miami Beach:

Of the Miami and Miami Beach places listed on my report, only Joe's Stone Crab would be considered expensive -- but if you decide to splurge, it's worth it. Everyplace else I went to should fit in your price range.

I don't think the restaurants along Lincoln Road are very expensive.

Tiramisu is one of my favorites. Italian.

Yes, I've heard about Lincoln Road on another website. I think I'll keep it in mind when too tired or hungry to look around, for a quick bite. Thanks.

We ate at an excellent Vietnamese restaurant just north of the Wolfsonian Museum that would fill your bill.

Does anyone know if there is a NY style deli that has replaced Wolfies?
