sedona jeep tours

I'll be spending an afternoon, one night and the following am in Sedona in early November. I've heard of several good 2-hour jeep tours for a beginner like me: Pink Jeep Tour's " Broken Arrow " tour and EarthWisdom's "Easy Rider" tour. Anyone familiar with either or both? How do they compare? Generally, is an off-road tour preferable to an on road one?

We did Pink Jeep tour in late August and did the Broken Arrow tour. I believe all tours have an "off road" component because you can't see what they have to show you just from improved roads. We had a great time although both my wife and I agreed that 2 hours bouncing around in the jeep was enough. It's beautiful country, have a great time!

I just did the Broken Arrow tour 2 weeks ago. It was great! The guide's are very informed and friendly, and it's a great experience. You definitely should go off-road!

The ride is quite bumpy, but the scenery is amazing - and some of the paths the jeeps go up and down are pretty unbelievable. It was a highlight of my trip to Arizona.

I've done the Pink Jeep tour twice. Once with my family eons ago when I was a kid and about 2 yrs ago. I remembered it being a blast and it was. What I didn't realize bakc then, or didn't appreciate, is just how beautiful the back country is. The driver was great--fun and knew what he was talking about. Cute too ;-)

We did the Broken Arrow tour w/ Pink Jeeps also this summer. I loved it for the scenery and all the info the guide provided. My 3 teenagers loved it for the bumpy ride and adventure. It's a great combo. I wouldn't want to just be on the road if this is the "Easy Rider". It's great to be out in the middle of everything.

I ditto all the comments above except we went through Arizona Jeep tours instead of the Pink Jeep tour. We were able to book online and save 10%. Also, they advertise their jeeps to have larger tires which make for a "smoother" ride. Don't let me mislead you...the ride is bUmPy, but very enjoyable. We did the "Broken Arrow" trail, too. It's amazing where these jeeps can go! We were there about a month ago.

Have a great time!

I went on a Pink Jeep ride to the Canyon Rim. A good portion of the road (up Schnebly's) was accessible by any vehicle. Then we slowly climbed up a small ledge and were truly off road. The driver was great, very informative. Right after he explained how to identify a bird by its translucent wing tips, up one swooped. It's awesome to look down on birds flying around. We also hiked up some rocks to get a better view. The ride is bumpy but not teeth rattling. He drove slow when necessary. It's a little unnerving when the jeep tilts as one set of wheels climbs but I would give our driver, Hal, an A+ for safety and comfort. I wouldn't advise someone with back problems to go on the trip but even the roughest ride is suitable for beginners. After all, you aren't the driver.

Oh, I forgot to mention...Pink Jeep gives a discount to returning customers. While signing up for a tour, I offhandedly told them I had been on one of their trips years before. They took my word for it and I think I saved 10-15%.
