Sedona Jeep Tours
Any comments on which jeep tours are best - pink jeep, red rock or hummer? I looked at Pink Jeep tours website, any comments on which tour would be a good one for us w/our two kids (12, 15)? The Broken Arrow Tour seems to be the most popular, it's $20 more than the other tours they offer, is it worth it? Thanks.

SusieTrue: What is the internet special? I don't see anything about a special on their site, just the Pink Jeep Broken Arrow, Adults $65 each - is that the special (don't know if it's against the rules to post a price on here, but don't know how to otherwise ask the question - sorry, if it's a no-no)?

ibaboyd: There is an internet special listed on the pinkjeeptours.com homepage. It's 20% off adult fares if you reserve the 8am tour and take it by March 31, and it's 10% off the 7am tour from April 1 till September. There is also 20% off for two tours (can't imagine that). The percentage off applies to adults only.

We spent a week in Sedona last Aug. w/our 3 boys (8,10, 14) & had booked a Pink Jeep (Broken Arrow) tour. However our boys are absolutely Hummer crazy so we changed plans and surprised them with the Hummer tour. It was the highlight of their trip - a Hummer can do things a jeep can't do which is very exciting. The suspension on the Hummer is superior to the jeep so the ride isn't as bumpy (a plus for adults!). I would definitely recommend the Hummer tour for teens - price was comparable.

BBear: Wow, thanks for the info about the Hummer tour -- my kids would prefer that too I'm sure! Glad to hear the price is comparable. Do you know if they have a website?
Regarding Pink Jeep Tours internet specials, I've found that a lot of the Sedona Hotels offer the same percentage off for a jeep tour booked through the hotel. The Best Western told me if I book a PinkJeep tour through them I would get 10% off AND the jeep would pick us up and drop us off at the hotel

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply; my wonderful MIL passed away yesterday, so we've had our hands full. I just found the brochure for the Hummer tours - we did the Gambler Trail - price is $69 ad/$59 child vs. $65/$52 for Pink Jeep. The Gambler Trail seemed to be the most exciting trip for teens - halfway down a steep hill the driver stopped and then went into reverse going UP the hill, which is something a jeep could not do! They have 1 seat available in the front, 3 middle seats which are fairly enclosed and 3 higher, open seats in the back. The back seats are the most exciting - bumpier and almost like a roller coaster. They stopped for a break and let the boys pose for pictures as if they were driving! There is also a small Hummer store. I've heard great things about the Pink Jeeps also, but my boys were thrilled to be in a Hummer, not a "Barbie Jeep"!

Another recommendation in Sedona - have a meal at the Cowboy Club. They have an appetizer of rattlesnake, buffalo and cactus fries. And for adults try the prickly pear cactus margarita! You do need reservations, but my kids LOVE to tell their friends that they ate rattlesnake!
