to sunbum1944: If you had to choose one of the two Clipper packages, which would you go with, Victoria or Vancouver? Actually, they have a package which includes both, but we might not have time for that one!

I would choose Victoria if I only had one choice.

The Emerald City Trolley takes care of your touring needs: www.emeraldcitytrolley.com. It's a two-day hop-on-hop-off with three routes covering the places most people want to visit.

Me, I prefer Vancouver over Victoria, much more interesting city as it has more variety.

Also prefer car over other modes of transportation, although we always calculate when to avoid the long wait at the border.

HTTY: if you drive into Canada via the Okanagan Valley, your border crossing is at Osoyoos. Nobody there, just the birds and the border agents. Last time we crossed one of our group set off some kind of alarm. Big fuss, many agents. Turned out she had had a recent medical treatment and had set off the radioactivity detector! You'd think we were bringing over some kind of atomic device instead of just bottles of good Canadian wine. Everybody had a good laugh!

I highly recommend this border crossing, done it several times and the Lake Okanagan area is stunningly beautiful. Just be careful of the speed traps, especially on the US side.
