Seattle to Tacoma?
Thanks to everyone for their previous posts on my upcoming trip. We are staying at Red Lion downtown Seattle and would like to go to Tacoma for day to Glass Museum. Someone mentioned a train but all I can find is the commuter train that evidently only goes from Seattle to Tacoma late afternoon. Is there a train that leaves Seattle for Tacoma in morning and if so any info on it would be appreciated. If not are we better off renting a car for the day . If we go that route should we keep it for another day to see some sights that might be difficult on public transportation.
Any restaurant recs in Tacoma?
thank you as always

You can certainly take Amtrak between Seattle and Tacoma, but it may not be cheap. Perhaps you can take a Greyhound bus one way and the commuter train back? Or maybe the commuter train is going to go the wrong way no matter what?
It might be cheapest simply to rent a car for the day and drive down, although that corridor of I-5 can be awful.

Greyhound is an option. The Greyhound Station is conveniently located in downtown Seattle, and the stop in Tacoma is about 1/2 mile from the Museum of Glass: www.greyhound.com

The Sounder train schedule is built around commuter needs, so for casual travel it does not work well.
