Seattle the Evening Before a Red Eye Flight
My husband has a business trip to Seattle Monday. He found out today he will have to take the red eye flight back to Chicago Monday night. What might be fun between 5 pm and 9 pm in Seattle on a Monday evening? He will have a car service arranged take him there at 5 after his meeing and pick him up from there to go to airport at 9:30 or so, but would not otherwise have his own car. He was thinking of something interesting to see, maybe a museum that has evening hours. He won't have any luggage, only a briefcase. We have been to Seattle before and done the space needle. He was thinking of something other than that.

I like suze's cruise idea - it's always nice to get out on the water.
How about checking out the Center for Wooden Boats and then dinner? www.cwb.org

Unfortunately Mondays are pretty dead in Seattle, especially this coming one, following Seafair Sunday with thunderboats and jet planes roaring around town.
It's Argosycruises.com, and their dinner cruise (around 3 hours) might be a good idea, although time might be tight at the end.
Otherwise, he can take the ferry to Bainbridge and walk to the Harbour Public House for a good meal and nice views, or see 7 or 8 innings of baseball (maybe more) at the Mariners game. Safeco is a great ballpark and they ought to do okay against Monday's opponents, the TBBs. Pretty decent ballpark food, too.

If you are talking abount Monday, August 7, you could see Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband at The Triple Door. Food there is from the first-rate Wild Ginger, upstairs.
"They are part pop/rock band and part jam band. In concert, these guys perform one of the most energetic shows I've seen. They truly look like they enjoy playing. In addition, the songs are uplifting and positive". -David Schultz, Folk & Acoustic Music

Many thanks for the suggestions. Here's what he thinks he will do. EMP (Experience Music Project) apparently a unique kind of museum right by the space needle (there is also the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame there). In summer the museums are open until 8 pm and there is as part of it the Revolution Bar and Grill that stays open until midnight even on weekdays (with happy hour after 9 pm!). So he can wander the museum have a drink and dinner and then go straight to the airport. (He still hates those red eyes but at least he has something to look forward to.)
