Seattle's Marqueen Hotel
I've read several different posts on here and on tripadvisor about this hotel being within walking distance to downtown, some say yes, some say no...anybody know? We love to walk and a mile is no problem if it's a good road and not a highway. Thanks for any answers!

The Marqueen is 1.7 miles from the heart of the retail core. The walk is on rather flat streets, but it is not paricularly interesting (in my view).
The building, built to house employees, was converted to a hotel a few years ago. It is located on a busy street. There are many shops and restaurants nearby. It is convenient to a bus stop and to Seattle Center (where the Space Needle, Opera House, etc. are located). The Inn at Queen Anne and Mediterranean are other hotels in the area.

Unfortunately the Seattle monorail is closed for repairs after a couple of hiccups last year. Maybe they'll have it fixed by the time you go.

I used this to get downtown when I stayed at the Marqueen a few years ago.
