Fire in one of the trains. The investigation following revealed that the conditions that led to the fire may take more money and time to correct than the city is prepared to spend on a 40-year old system that is due to be replaced in five years anyway.

Thanks Gardyloo! I just did some research. The fire was on May 31, too bad. Do you know if anyone was hurt? There weren't too many details. www.seattlemonorail.com has some info.
A bus shuttle is replacing the monorail. It's such a Seattle classic, I hope they can raise the $$$ to repair it. ***kim***
