Seattle in July: Warwick or Maxwell hotel

Several relatives are converging on Seattle mid-July to meet my niece's fiance. They live in a Belltown apartment that's fairly close to Seattle Center. We've narrowed hotels down to the Warwick and Maxwell, one to the north of Seattle Center and one to the south. We'll be spending a lot of family time but want to revisit (we lived in Seattle decades ago) some places like Pike Place Market and, yes, the Needle. Want to eat Dungeness crab on the waterfront. Hope to avoid renting a car, but it's a possibility. Does anyone have an opinion about which hotel is in the better location? We'll be staying for a week.

The Warwick is a good hotel near the retail and entertainment core of the city and also near Belltown and within easy walking distance of the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, etc. I believe it is the clear choice.

I work right next to the Warwick. Although it has seen its heyday and is a bit in need of renovation, it is centrally located to other attractions, besides Seattle Center. There is a decent small grocery store across the street and you are surrounded by Tom Douglas's top-notch and expensive restaurants.

Either would be a great choice. One note is that the Maxwell has free parking if you wanted to get a car to explore outside the city, or some of our great neighborhoods; and the other is that the Maxwell has a free shuttle bus that takes folks to the Pike Market, the zoo, around Seattle Center to the Space Needle, etc.
