Any suggestions for a great seafood restaurant in Vegas? More specifically, lobster or crab legs. Thanks!

I am not a seafood eater but everybody raves about the Rio's seafood buffet.

Ruth Chris is an upscale Steakhouse chain with restaurants in many cities across the country. They are known for their steak. I have never heard of them being recommended for seafood. In my opinion Ruth Chris is highy overrated, especially considering their very high prices.

can't really help with a restaurant; but the Rio seafood buffet, was in my opinion not worth it. A lot of seafood, a lot of it was fried etc. As far as good quality I didn't think it was very good. It was about $22 which is high for a buffet and if you want quality, you are better off finding a restaurant and eat exactly what you want.

We ate at Rio's seafood buffet about a year and a half ago and thought it was great--I wonder if the quality has decreased since then or whether two different palates just have different opinions. When were you there, Dave? We talked to several people while standing in line (count on a wait) and they were Las Vegas locals--that's always a good sign to me. I remember a large variety of fried, steamed, boiled and baked seafood, plus appetizers, salads, desserts, etc. My husband and I aren't usually big buffet fans, but would go back to Rio's in a minute.

My wife and I just ate at Emiril's New Orleans Fish House in the MGM Grand Monday night. The food was outstanding!
Unbelievable barbeque shrimp, louisiana fried oysters, crab cakes and grilled cajun tuna.Make reservations well in advance.

I too would stay far from the "seafood" buffets. The wait is not worth it. We went to Buzio's at Rio and had a great dinner. I've also heard great things about Emeril's at MGM. Have fun.

I've also eaten at Buzio's (in the Rio) on several occasions and the food was excellent (and also a pretty cool atmosphere).

Emeril's New Orleans Fish House @ MGM Grand is a dining experience that should not be missed. From their crab cakes to their bananas pie we were not disappointed. The bacon wrapped shrimp was a tates delight. We have been avid fans of Emeril's television show and were expecting a lot. Our expectations were completely met. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere delightful. I would suggest requesting a table in the back - away from the walk way. Absolutely the highlight of our Las Vegas stay. If you are looking for fine dining the $$$ won't be problem. If you are looking for a buffet bargin you may want to go elsewhere. You get what you pay for.

Most of the major casinos have a seafood buffet on Tuesdays and Fridays. Be prpared to stand in line for a while, so I owuld get there early...escpecially the Rio.

Sams Town (off the strip) has a great seafood buffet on fridays.

Just returned from Vegas on Tuesday. We celebrated my husband's and brother's birthdays with a dinner at the Rosewood Grill Lobster House (recommended by friends who live in Vegas). It is not glitzy or glamourous, it is not located in a casino or hotel. It sits by itself in the center of the strip next to the Venetian and directly across from Treasure Island (you won't miss it because of the huge sign). We had the lobster feast for four which included a 12, yes 12, pound lobster that was succulent and delicious and quite a sight to behold (you can order one up to 17 lbs.!). They also have many excellent fish and seafood dishes as well as steaks. All around, a very memorable experience and the best lobster I've ever had!

The seafood buffet at the Fiesta is very good - Wednesdays only. You will need a car or take a taxi as the Fiesta Hotel & Casino is a litte way from the strip. Everytime I go to Vegas this is a must - and I usually go twice a year.
I just go for the crabs - excellent.

The buffet at the Paris Hotel and Casino has wonderful shrimp, prawns and King crab legs. Although it is not a "seafood" buffet, the food is outstanding.

We also went to Rosewood quite a few years ago but definitely the best and the biggest lobster I've ever had! But be prepared to pay for it! While we were there waiting for our food, alot of people came in (I think they thought they served $4.95 all you can eat seafood or something, cuz they got up and left after seeing the menu.) But to this day, it was the best lobster I've ever had!

Emeril's is good but for the $$$, I would go for the Rio Seafood Buffet. It's $25 but for me, there are 2 reasons to go. 1) the lobster. They are small tails but they slit them in half so it's very easy to pick out the chunk of meat. 2) the Mongolian-style station where you pick the veggies, garlic, oil, etc. you want and then tell them what seafood you want stir-fried with it. The scallops are so good. We usually go between 4 and 4:30 so we get there before the big line. We've been there many times and never had to wait more than 30 min. Besides, you take a number and can walk around while waiting. Then, they post your number on the display and then you get in line. Once actually in line, it's very fast.


Also, in regards to the Fiesta. We have not tried the seafood night but have been on other nights. The Fiesta buffet is a gem. $9.99 and they have a BBQ pit. Some of the best pork ribs I've had in a long time. Always poke them with the tongs first to make sure you pick the tender ones! Also, the service is very good. Way better than you would expect at a $10 buffet.
