Scrapbooking Vacation Memories

Does anyone have any suggestions on sites that might provide me with some new and different ideas on scrapbooking my vacation photos? I love coming back and creating creative albums, but I run out of ideas. Anyone with some ideas or help? Thanks!

Well, everytime my husband and I take a vacation overseas, we arrive home with our pockets bursting with stuff, plane tickets, restaurant tabs, brochures, entry passes at various attractions etc.
What I do is go out and by a 20X22 inch poster frame and pick out about 6 of the best/most meaning full photo, the most interesting or special momentos..ie the tab from a romantic dinner, or the brochure from a special hotel,,, and I create a collage.
First I lay down tourist maps... then the momentos... and lastly the photos... The left over photos go into albums and the rest of the bits of paper go in the dumpster. Our bedroom has about 10 different collages of each different trip we've taken we've got beer matts from Germany, business cards from interesting people and maps from all over the world. In our last aparment I had a long hall and they were hung chronologically.. we love to stop and look at them from time to time, so much easier then dragging out the photo albums or reading through the travel journals.

Try creativekeepsakes.com or go to your local bookstore and check out the scrapbooking magazines (ie creative keepsakes or memory makers). They offer some really neat ideas that may give you something to start with...

FYI - I just went to bookmark betsy's suggestion and I think it's creatingkeepsakes.com because creativekeepsakes comes up as a smocking site.

What is the best size albums for scrapbooking vacations? It seems as though the 8-1/2 x 11 would be easier to take to show people, but the larger ones definitely hold more photos on a page. Any advice for an inexperienced scrapper?

'Y'

Yes, the larger pages hold more & do allow for more flexibility & a dramatic presentation. HOWEVER, you are also correct in that an 8 1/2 x 11 size page is MUCH more manageable & easier to transport & show to people. My first couple albums were large; but now I've downsized & greatly prefer using a 8 1/2 x 11 or less sized album.
