I have an upcoming vacation in the area and I'm looking forward to excellent Mexican food! Can you give me some ideas as to the great spots for Mexican. I have a car so any location is good....thanks!

My husband and I travel to Scottsdale every few months - we're not experts on all the local Mom and Pop places, but we LOVE The Salty Senorita at 3636 N Scottsdale Blvd. (I think they have several locations in the Phoenix area, and a website: www.saltysenorita.com). The atmosphere is wonderful - neat mosaics inside and fun patio outside. Their margaritas are just killer! They also have valet parking and there is street parking nearby. We hope you have a terrific vacation!

Mi Amigos Mexican Grill, Phoenix
455 N 3RD St Ste 150
Phoenix, AZ 85004-3930
A relative and her family (big Mexican food aficionados) love this place. I have not eaten there but I trust their taste in this category.

We just came back from a week in Scottsdale - we're very interested in food and I do a lot of research beforehand - we had a terrific meal at The Spotted Donkey, in El Pedregal museum/shopping complex in North Scottsdale. My husband liked his margarita, we had delicious soft tacos, green chile stew and spicy skewered shrimp and the atmosphere was very warm, pretty and friendly. They have great-looking outdoor seating, too. You can reserve through www.opentable.com

The place for Mexican food in Scottsdale for over 40 years has been Los Olivos in donwtown Scottsdale. It has always been the first place my relatives want to go when visiting. I saw Barry Goldwater there once.
