Scottsdale and New Mexico: Need Advice on what to see
Good Morning Everyone,
I'll be traveling November 14-21 to Scottsdale, Arizona. I will be visting Albuquerue, New Mexico on the 16-17 and back to Arizona.
This is not my first time visiting Arizona -- the last time there I didn't get a chance to visit the Canyon so that is a must see on my list for this trip. I also visited the Mountzemula Monumnet.
I do need some suggestions on what to see along the way for my trip from Arizona to New Mexico. I intend to do the Sandia Tram but what else is there to do?
Thanks a bunch!

You'll have a myriad of choices of things to see and do! Since you're seeing the Grand Canyon, definitely consider Bryce and Zion Canyons, too. Truly TREASURES, and to us, even BETTER than the Grand Canyon.
Other favorites are Canyon de Chelly and Monument Valley, with a stay at Gouldings Lodge, where many western movies were filmed. When you're in Albuquerque, be sure you visit the Indian Pureblo Cultural Center. It has a wonderful museum and excellent restaurant on site.
Less time consuming would be Walnut Canyon Nat'l Mt. and Petrified Forest Nat'l Park. And of course, you can make a quick stop in Winslow, AZ and do the 'standing-on-the-corner' tourist thing.
With just a week, you'll have to choose only a few, but you'll have a great time!

Thanks Ellen,
I have a few more questions, since I'll be anxious to get to the Canyon frist. Where exactly is Bryce and Zion Canyon? I'll consider visting them on the way down from the Canyon (is this possible -- time wise in one day)?
Also, what is standing-on-the-corner? Is this something that can be seen or done on the way to New Mexico?

I already answered on your other post. But, for the record Bryce and Zion are in Utah and are way out of the way for what you want to do. Not possible to do on this trip with your itinerary.
Standing on the corner in Winslow, Arizona is a quick stop off the interstate. You can do it in 10 minutes. It's stupid, but fun. It's literally a corner with a sign that says "Standing on the corner." Everyone poses for pictures with the sign.
