Santa Fe Weather in early July?

My husband and I try to go somewhere every year for our anniversary in early July. We aren't much for heat and humidity (of course it much easier to tolerate heat if the humidity is low). We were thinking of trying Santa Fe, but wonder if it's too hot for our liking. Can anyone give us an idea of what the weather/humidity/precipitation/wind would be like at that time of year?

We have been there in August three or four times and it was wonderful compared to the midwest. There is very little humidity and it was not much hotter than 80-85, which doesn't feel that hot with the dryer air. If it did get uncomfortably hot, it was only for an hour or two, usually 2-3 in the afternoon. No wind. We have only experienced one really rainy day, where it was pretty steady in all our visits there. We have been all over New Mexico in four or five trips over the past few years and we have always loved the weather everywhere we went there. Even Albuquerque and Las Cruces were not that hot compared to what we are used to in the St. Louis area.

It will be hot but not humid. The nights and mornings will be pleasant, then it will get pretty hot (90s) in the afternoon. If you are there on July 4, don't miss Pancakes in the Plaza, the city's annual Independence Day festivites. It's really awesome (and is about much more than pancakes!)

Thanks very much, jet519 and Jayne 1973. Your info on July weather is very helpful. One other question, should we expect most places to be air conditioned (lodging, restaurants, galleries?

Yes, everything will be air conditioned. There are plenty of places to duck in for a cool drink or a little shopping. It's very tourist friendly.

Thanks, jayne1973. Glad to hear it. 90s in the afternoons still sounds a bit warm to me

If we stay at the Santa Fe Hilton or some other lodging on the Plaza, can anyone tell me what other parking options we would have besides at the hotel? Is there parking on the street or a city parking lot near by?
