Santa Fe/Chimayo B&B
I'm helping my brother & sister-in-law find a B&B for next week. They want to be near SF, but don't like big crowds/touristy stuff. Looking for R&R, with "atmosphere". Considering Casa de la Cuma in SF or Casa Escondida in Chimayo. Is anyone familiar with either of these? Thanks for any info/recommendation.

I agree they won't have to worry about big crowds next week.
When you say "atmosphere" what are they wanting? I think Casa de la Cuma is nice (haven't stayed there) but it is in town which will be convenient for them to walk the plaza area.
Chimayo isn't convenient to SF in the sense that it is a 5-10 drive into town. It would be around 25 minutes or so. It is a beautiful area but I couldn't recommend it if they are wanting to eat and tour SF and then drive back each day. And if winter weather strikes the narrow windy roads can be dangerous.
Renting a condo is a great idea if they don't want to rub elbows with other guests at the b&b. Plus, the one Debi has posted has a hot tub which would be a nice way to end the evening in Santa Fe.
And if they are looking for R&R, Ten Thousand Waves Japanese Spa will have them relaxed, rejuvenated and wanting more! A must for us.

I've stayed at Casa Escondido and it's lovely. Very relaxing. Nothing nearby. I would defer to BeachGirl on the issue of weather and driving back and forth to SF.
Second the recommendation for Ten Thousand Waves. A wonderful spa -- very relaxing experience.

My brother & SIL are at Casa de la Cuma now. They are in the Opera Suite and they like it a lot. They said the homemade breakfast was awesome. They would highly recommend this B&B.
Also, they recommend a restaurant, Pasquale. They said their dinner was amazing.
Thanks again everyone!
