Sandals/Flip Flops from Hawaii?

I am positive that you mean "Surfas" and you can find them at Longs Drugs. Surfas brand used to be exported to the mainland, but no longer are.
Locals are a take-off and look similar to, but are not Surfas.

There's several different brands of locally made slippers (flip flops to you mainlanders ) - but I'm not aware of any one brand being better than another.
We're talking about the same thing, right? The cheap rubber ones that are about $3.98 anywhere? Or are we talking about something different?
There's another brand - Scott or Scotty's or something like that - they make leather slippers that go for around $30 or more. My dad has had those for years.

I wear the Locals brand slippers that you can get at Longs. Every so often you can get them on sale for $1.98. My sister buys Scott brand slippers, though. Once you get to Hawaii, you can refer to them as "slippahs."

There are several good brands on the market.
My warning to you is: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU BUY CHEAP SLIPPERS WITHOUT A SHAPED INSOLE AND A CLEARLY DEFINED TREAD! The cheap slippers with plain, flat bottoms and flat insoles will destroy your instep and cause you to slip and fall when you walk on wet, slick surfaces.
My estimate is that the slippers costing eight dollars are the minimum to assure health and safety. The two dollar slippers will literally kill you someday.

The strap on Rainbows are tested to 2,000 pounds. I don't think that can be said for many other pairs of slaps.
I also have had Reefs in the past and they don't hold up as well as the Rainbows but probably because they aren't leather.
Rainbows mold to your feet.
Mr.GoTravel has several pair. Basic black and basic brown and then a pair of black 'dress' Rainbows. They are just newer than the other two pair.

Reef makes a full line of flip-flops, leather and other. I have about six pairs of varying styles, color (well, brown & black), and material to wear with jeans in the summer. I've seen them at surf shops from Montauk to Va Beach to Big Sur to Hawaii.
