Several of us went to the Winchester House, and most of us didn't enjoy it that much. Seemed like a waste of money and we wished we had just gone into San Francisco for the day. (We were there for a college event, so that's why we stayed in San Jose.)

I was going to suggest the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose as well. I know that some folks find it hokey, but my kids (aged 12 and 15 when we visited) loved it and I was entertained as well.
