San Francisco Union Area Breakfast places?

We are staying at the Handlery Hotel in July and wondered if there are any good places to have breakfast in this area, inexpensive or moderately priced.

Thanks

You may want to hike over to Chinatown, there are moderated priced Dim Sum parlors all over the place. They open, Dim Sum is a Chinese breakfest.

Lyndsay, Your hotel is in a pretty nice location. There are several places to eat breakfast in the area. One popular location is Sears (not the dept store!)It is on Powell street (cable car line) between sutter and post streets. Try the silver dollar pancakes! If there is a line, it is worth the wait. Also on the corner of Mason and Geary there is a deli style rest.(Max's deli) that has good breakfast as well as lunch and dinner (be sure to split the sandwiches, the're huge). A good lunch place is on the roof of Macy's Dept. Store in Union Square. It is the Cheese Cake Factory. Also very large portions, so be sure to split one item. If you are really brave and want an adventure, go to Dotties cafe on Taylor street for breakfast. It is in a "not so good area", but has great food. It is a favorite for locals. Ask your hotel staff for its location, but dont venture too far away...it gets pretty bad. Sears is your best bet. I must disagree with the last post...Dim sum is not a breakfast, but light way to have lunch. most dim sum places serve from 11 am until 3 pm. Have a wonderful time in the City by the Bay.

Another vote for Sears! My favorite is their sourdough French toast with strawberry preserves. One serving will set you up for a long day of shopping, at least until late afternoon.
